11 Jul, 2026

The Pastoral Care of the Sick Ministry held its annual meeting from 11–12 July 2026, with 15 sisters participating. The ministry warmly welcomed Sr. Manisha Pawara, the newest member of the ministry. Throughout the meeting, the focus was on integrating clinical excellence with spiritual and community-based care.

Sr. Bindu Varghese opened the sessions with a presentation on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), highlighting the crucial role of nurses in promoting responsible antibiotic use and quality patient care. Mrs. Sujata Lopes shared practical public health strategies, encouraging the sisters to understand local community needs, collaborate with ASHA workers, and serve with compassion. Sr. Romalin facilitated a reflective session on the brain, mind, and spirituality, while Sr. Lavina presented on the Steps of Patient Satisfaction with a Canossian touch.

The meeting concluded with an inspiring address by Provincial Leader Sr. Audrey D'Souza, titled "New Wineskins for One Mission," challenging the participants to discern new ways of serving and to prepare a collaborative Action Plan. The gathering ended with a renewed vision to be witnesses of hope and love, accompanying the vulnerable with tenderness, compassion, and justice.
