RECONFIGURATION IN MISSION: A HUMBLE OFFERING FROM THE PROVINCE OF ST. FRANCIS XAVIER, INDIA CENTRE
A Small Step Toward Becoming Universal Missionaries at Heart

The GC17 invited the entire Congregation to embrace “Reconfiguration to a life of Holiness, in and for the Mission today.” This call urged us to open our hearts to the multicultural God dwelling within us and to the multicultural God active among the nations. It invited us to discover God’s multifaceted presence through intercultural living, shared mission, and courageous availability. For our Province of St. Francis Xavier, India Centre, this invitation came at a time when our own needs are great. Many dioceses in India Centre continue to cry out for more hands for the mission, and the pastoral demands placed upon our communities are pressing. Yet, even in the midst of these needs, the Spirit stirred within us a deeper generosity — a willingness to rise above our limitations and offer two Sisters for temporary service beyond our borders.
This decision was not easy. It required sacrifice, trust, and a widening of the heart. But it also awakened in us a renewed desire to become universal missionaries, ready to serve wherever the
Spirit calls.
Moved by this inner prompting, two Sisters set out to collaborate with the Province of Cristo Rey, U.S.A., serving in its community in Richmond, Canada. What began as a small gesture of availability has become a living sign of reconfiguration.
