Arambol – Goa

In 1981 four Sisters arrived Arambol, North Goa, since Fr. Mazarello the Parish priest requested their help for the parish school and faith formation of the people.

In spite of no electricity, this picturesque fishing village had simple, loving and God fearing people. They endeared themselves to the Sisters as they began their apostolate in school and parish. Two Sisters taught in the parish school, and others were involved in the coaching classes and Tailoring, family apostolate and Youth Programmes. Changes were soon noticed and the Sisters built a new convent in 1987.

Yoeman service was done by the Sisters and at present Sr. Celcy the headmistress of the parish school is much loved and appreciated for her excellent service.

Social outreach Programmes took a new turn when Sister social workers organized projects such as self-help groups, care of migrant workers, combating AIDS, Sex abuse etc.

The parish activities of catechesis and youth formation took on a new look while the Sisters reach out to every sector of Society to strengthen their faith life.

Here the people are challenged to steadfastly uphold the sound values against, consumerism, addiction and other modern threats caused by tourism.
